Attività

Il laboratorio svolge attività di ricerca e sviluppo nei vari settori dell’ingegneria dei trasporti, orientato soprattutto ai temi più innovativi sulla sicurezza dei trasporti sotto i profili metodologici, tecnologici, organizzativi e applicativi:

  • trasporti, sicurezza e Protezione Civile
  • mobilità sostenibile
  • infomobilità e Sistemi di Trasporto Intelligente (ITS)

Strumentazione

  • software CUBE per la modellizzazione delle reti di trasporto
  • arcGis
  • fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) per la modellizzazione degli incendi

  • analysis and drawing up of risk maps and transport networks vulnerability  for the prevention of risk resulting from transport activities
  • drawing up of emergency plans and civil defence plans for municipalities and provinces for transport network problems
  • development of procedures and decision support systems to manage mobility  during emergencies
  • assessment of safety in road and rail tunnels and implementation of thermo-fluid-dynamic 3D models
  • applications of mobility management and IT systems for users and for traffic management
  • traffic management plan
  • drawing up of plans for urban traffic, urban mobility, transport and extra-urban road networks
  • assessment of the impact on roads and the environment to provide services such as (or in the form of) civil protection, emergencies or evacuation plans
  • development of Geographic Information Systems to support the planning and traffic management
