Mentee's Role

We cannot offer you a crystal ball to read your future...

However, we can put you in contact with an International Polimi Lecco graduate. He/She can share insights and help you with professional issues or offer academic advice. This service aims to help students approach the global job market or higher education with more confidence. Any student in his/her last year of the Bachelor’s Degree or currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree can become a Mentee.

While registering to the program, a Mentee will choose a Mentor from a list of former students who have graduated from the International Master’s Programs at our Campus. Then, the Mentee establishes contact by e-mail with the chosen Mentor and begins to correspond with him or her. The Mentor-Mentee relationship should last for a full academic year.

What does a Mentee gain?

  • Precious knowledge and advice to help him/her in his/her future career
  • A feeling of confidence in his/her choices
  • Support from someone who has already gone through the same issues he/she may be now experiencing
  • Knowledge on how to write the correct questions to obtain specific information
  • Possible networking opportunities
  • Clarification of goals;h with precious advice and suggestions
  • An opportunity to practice his/her English language skills

Mentee should:

  • Desire to consider the suggestions from older, more experienced alumni
  • Be willing to admit the need for help or guidance
  • Be polite in all communications with the Mentor
  • Be considerate of the amount of time a Mentor can spend answering questions
  • Communicate in a clear, specific manner and in professional English
